Bellafill Frequently Asked Questions
Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Caruth fights the earliest signs and symptoms of aging at Plano Aesthetics with Bellafill dermal filler. Bellafill is comprised of a smooth collagen gel and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres, which provide lift and volume to correct fine lines, wrinkles, and skin irregularities so you look beautiful and rejuvenated. Bellafill is approved by the FDA to add volume and smooth your skin while stimulating collagen production over time. Learn more about how Bellafill can help you attain natural results that last up to five years by scheduling a consultation with Dr. Caruth at his practice in Plano, TX.
Bellafill Procedure Technique
Bellafill is an exciting and effective option for men and women over the age of 21 who want to rejuvenate their appearance by smoothing their skin. Bellafill provides natural results for a long period of time and can be safely used in most areas of the face. It is ideal for the correction of static wrinkles, including smile lines and nasolabial folds. Bellafill can also be used for the treatment of acne scars that may have left deep pits in your skin. Please inform Dr. Caruth if you have ever had an allergic reaction to medication, especially lidocaine or bovine collagen.
Smooth Your Skin
We often perform Bellafill injections the same day as your private consultation with Dr. Caruth. You will be prepped for your treatment in our procedure room, where your skin will be cleaned and marked for injections. If you are nervous about discomfort, a numbing cream can be applied to your skin before treatment. When you are ready and comfortable, a fine needle will be inserted into the marked locations and Bellafill will be injected. Afterward, a cold compress can be used to prevent swelling.
What to Expect with Bellafill®
You will be able to return to normal activities immediately following your Bellafill treatment, but you should avoid exercise and strenuous activity for at least 24 hours. You may experience swelling, redness, bruising, itching, and discoloration of the treatment site, but these symptoms are temporary and subside quickly. Most patients enjoy almost immediate results that last for up to five years. Ask Dr. Caruth, during your consultation how often you should receive Bellafill injections in order to maintain optimal results.
Bellafill Ideal Candidates
How much does Bellafill cost?
The cost of your Bellafill injections will depend on the number of vials that are needed to meet your aesthetic goals. During a private consultation with Dr. Caruth, he will assess your appearance and listen to your goals before creating a custom treatment plan. Then he will be able to estimate your costs and explain the payment methods accepted by our facility.
Is it safe?
Bellafill was approved by the FDA in 2006 as a safe and effective solution for laugh lines and acne scars. Patients with allergies should speak with Dr. Caruth during their consultation so they can have an allergy test prior to treatment.
BOTOX or Bellafill?
Injectable fillers add volume and help to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while BOTOX and other wrinkle relaxers, temporarily freeze the underlying facial muscles for a smooth look. Dr. Caruth can help you decide which option is best for your goals during a consultation and may even recommend a combination of both.
Will I have fast and lasting results?
Patients will see results from a Bellafill injection almost immediately. Bellafill replaces lost volume in the skin and the results are both immediate and long lasting.
