As you age and your skin begins to lose elasticity, you may notice that certain parts of your face appear a bit more saggy or droopy. In many patients, this is especially noticeable along the neck and jawline. Plano Aesthetics offers a solution for this concern with PrecisionTX, a minimally invasive, side-firing laser that reduces the appearance of fat and sagging skin. Much like SmartLipo but created specifically for the face, PrecisionTX works by using laser energy to heat and shrink the unwanted fat while simultaneously stimulating the production of collagen for long-term skin tightening. The combined effect results in a slimmer, more youthful facial appearance. Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Caruth helps dozens of patients each year to rejuvenate their appearance with PrecisionTX. "* * * * * UPDATE * * * * * So about a week ago I had the PrecisionTX treatment on my underarms, which essentially is a treatment that ablates your sweat glands. Did it hurt? UHM, yes, but it wasn't unbearable. (But c'mon, "ablating" anything prrrrobably isn't going to be a party!) The procedure took about an hour but things went numb after a few minutes post incision. Annie and the other nurse (I can't remember her name) are SO sweet and I remember one of them holding my hand the whole time. Dr. Caruth asked me how I was doing throughout the procedure and even called personally a few days later to check in on me. I can't tell you how much I adore Annie, Samantha, Dr. Caruth and the other nurse...I hate that I don't remember her name too! Anyway, the first few days I was really really sore but now a week later I'm starting to feel a lot more normal. MOST incredibly, I haven't worn deodorant since and I have had absolutely NO perspiration! Beforehand I wouldn't say I sweated excessively like some people, but enough to annoy me. Now that I am feeling better, I would say that it was worth it! I'm sure I'll especially love it come summertime in Texas! If you're a heavy sweater I would DEFINITELY recommend this treatment! It's ONE time, and you're good to go forever!"- L.S. / Yelp / Oct 24, 2013

Ideal candidates for the minimally invasive PrecisionTX procedure include those who are experiencing loose skin, jowls, and a double chin. If you have more advanced signs of aging, such as excessive sagging skin, you may be better suited for Instalift. Dr. Caruth can help you make this decision during your consultation.
Before beginning your procedure, local anesthesia will be administered to the treatment area. Next, Dr. Caruth will identify points of entry before inserting a very small cannula (a special tube about the size of the tip of a pen) under your skin through a very small incision. This cannula has a special fiber inside of it that emits the laser energy and heats the treatment area, directly targeting areas of fat and lax tissue. As the fiber works to melt fat and shrink skin, Dr. Caruth can precisely target and sculpt the neck and jawline so that you leave our facility with a noticeably slimmer, more youthful appearance.
What to Expect
Your treatment should take around an hour to complete and you should be able to return home immediately afterward to rest and recover. Patients are typically able to resume normal activities on the same day or the day after treatment. You could experience swelling, redness, and tenderness on and around the treatment area. However, these side effects are extremely common and will subside within a week of your procedure. The incisions created by Dr. Caruth for your procedure are very small and carefully placed to reduce their visibility. Your incisions will heal quickly and do not typically cause noticeable scars.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does PrecisionTx work?

Does the PrecisionTx treatment hurt?
Local anesthesia is used to numb the points of entry on your face and neck so that you feel little if any discomfort during treatment. Dr. Caruth may prescribe an oral-conscious sedation to help you further relax during your treatment session.
Will I need a ride after the treatment?
For your utmost safety and comfort, we recommend that you arrange a responsible ride to and from the treatment, especially if anesthesia will be involved.
How many treatments will I need?
In most situations, only one treatment is needed with PrecisionTx. After treatment, significant improvement occurs one to two weeks after the procedure, with continued improvement over of six months, although individual experiences may vary.
Can I combine PrecisionTX with other treatments?
